Takeaways – Life. Lessons. Learned.

Dan Adamson

Dan Adamson is Executive Director and Corporate Broker at ROI Commercial. Over the course of his career, he has represented major national retailers and helped shape retail development across Las Vegas. His approach is grounded in consistency, relationships, and understanding how deals actually get done over time.

Starting Out

Dan grew up in Tucson and studied finance and real estate at the University of Arizona. His introduction to the industry came through an internship where he handled basic tasks but also got exposure to how deals were structured and executed. That experience led him to pursue commercial real estate full-time. He later moved to Las Vegas during a period when the market was still developing and less formal than it is today.

Building ROI Commercial

In 1992, Dan co-founded ROI Commercial. The early days consisted of long hours, limited resources, and a focus on solving problems for clients. Instead of chasing quick wins, he focused on building long-term relationships. That approach led to repeat business and steady growth over time. He shared an example of a deal that took years to complete, reinforcing that persistence is often required in commercial real estate.

The Reality of the Business

Dan describes success as an iceberg. The visible outcomes are only a small part of the work. Most of it happens behind the scenes through years of relationship building, failed deals, and ongoing problem-solving. Longevity in the business comes from consistency and doing the right thing, even when results are not immediate.
