Takeaways – Life. Lessons. Learned.

Tiger Todd

From entrepreneurial success to transforming thousands of lives on the streets, Tiger Todd’s journey is anything but ordinary. A self-taught philosopher, teacher, and social innovator, Tiger’s life pivoted when he stepped into a Las Vegas park nearly 30 years ago—armed with curiosity, and compassion. What followed became a decades-long mission to unravel and reverse the root causes of American homelessness.

Rewriting the Story of What’s Possible

Raised with a strong work ethic and shaped by personal setbacks, Tiger built a thriving business in the electronics industry before an unexpected encounter with homelessness redefined his purpose. What he discovered wasn’t just poverty—it was a pattern. A pattern of habits, mindsets, and learned behaviors that kept people trapped in the condition of homelessness.

Armed with life lessons from his father about adding value, Tiger created Hero School, a nonprofit initiative merging behavioral science, and the timeless structure of heroic storytelling to interrupt and reverse those patterns at scale. He’s drawn inspiration from Nietzsche, Viktor Frankl, and Joseph Campbell, embedding the hero’s journey into his curriculum—because every person, no matter their starting point, is capable of becoming the hero of their own story.

One Man. 60,000 Heroes

From streets to schools, juvenile detention centers to job fairs, Tiger has led more than 1,200 Hero School modules, helping over 60,000 people reclaim their identities and their lives. His approach is built around neutralizing the Four Habits of American Homelessness and replacing them with entrepreneurial principles like adding value first, taking responsibility, learning vertically, and doing it to prove it.

In his words, “humans become what they learn,” and by changing what someone learns—and who they learn from—you can change their entire trajectory.
