Takeaways – Life. Lessons. Learned.

Amalie Zinsser

Amalie Zinsser doesn’t just build communities — she lives and breathes them. From pioneering coworking spaces across the Western U.S. to connecting the dots between culture, place, and purpose, Amalie has found her calling in helping people belong. On this episode of Takeaways, Amalie shares her unlikely journey from harvesting organs scene to spearheading Kiln’s expansion in Las Vegas — and her powerful philosophy that business works best when people are happy.

Building Belonging Space by Space

Amalie’s story is rooted in curiosity, connection, and a relentless sense of place. Raised in Las Vegas, she eventually found her way to San Francisco, where running, cycling, and the city’s cultural richness sparked a deep appreciation for human-centered spaces. Her career picked up serious momentum with WeWork, where she pitched Las Vegas as a strategic market — opening not one, but two locations with record KPI’s, and proving to skeptics that community-driven office space was more than viable in Southern Nevada.

When WeWork’s IPO collapsed in 2019, Amalie pivoted, finding her next chapter in a burgeoning local development called UnCommons. She became integral in curating its soul — everything from tenant mix to community events — and eventually helped shape “The Assembly,” a unique venue for creative and professional gatherings.

Purpose over Paychecks

Amalie candidly shares, a brief detour chasing a paycheck reminded her that fulfillment isn’t found in a job title or a salary — it’s found in alignment with your values.

That clarity brought her to Kiln, a Utah-based coworking company expanding throughout the western U.S. With Amalie leading community and programming across several states, Kiln’s Vegas location is poised to be more than a workspace — it’s becoming a cultural hub.
