Takeaways – Life. Lessons. Learned.
Kevin Higgins, All Things Brokerage
Kevin Higgins, SIOR is a top producer’s top producer! Weeks before we recorded this episode he and his business partner became the first Vice Chairmans with CBRE Las Vegas. That is the highest title a broker can receive at CBRE worldwide based on production and experience.
Kevin began his career in 1985 with Coldwell Banker before opening the first Voit Real Estate office in 2002. Kevin was at Voit for 12 years, became the Executive Vice President, and was the number one producer for 11 out of those 12 years. Kevin moved to CBRE and became the number one producer in all of CBRE Las Vegas and a top 10 producer in all of CBRE nationwide. Kevin has won numerous awards, and his credentials are stacked, but his credentials only tell us part of the story of who Kevin is.
You Get Out What You Put In
Originally from Chicago, Kevin is the 5th of 10 children. His parents moved out west to chase the warm weather. Kevin credits his parents as the most influential factor in his success. “My parents raised 10 kids, and everyone had to do their part. Everyone had a job at home, and everyone had a responsibility.” Since he was eleven, Kevin had a job. He learned that it’s up to you to make your world. Don’t wait for someone else to make it for you.
Despite his parents’ plans, Kevin didn’t become a doctor or FBI agent. However, becoming a high achiever was always a part of his foundation.
SIOR & NAIOP
SIOR (Society of Industrial and Office Realtors) is a place where brokers come together to have an audience with the developers, contractors, lenders, etc., in commercial real estate. Kevin served as the chapter president in 2004 and 2009, and his team has won the coveted Southern Nevada Industrial Broker or Brokerage Team of the Year 13 times and was the Southern Nevada Top Producer Industrial Specialist from 2017 through 2022. In fact, my first time meeting Kevin was at an SIOR lunch.
But that isn’t the only connection we have. Kevin served as the NAIOP Southern Nevada President in 2003. I served as Chapter President in 2022. Getting to know the larger developers, architects, and engineers is important in Kevin’s opinion. NAIOP Southern Nevada helped facilitate those connections. As Kevin would put it, “the relationship… the more connectivity we have within our industry, the better we are as brokers.”
