TAKEAWAYS – Life. Lessons. Learned. explores learning from the wisdom of others.
We were on site at the Southern Nevada NAIOP May Program. The title was The Current Economic Climate: Calm Before the Storm?
Shawn Danoski and I sat down to discuss our Takeaways from this program. Shawn is the 2019 NAIOP Chapter President and CEO of DC Building Group, a leading general contracting firm in Las Vegas, NV.
The moderator was Matt Stater, Research & GIS Manager at Colliers International.
The panelists included:
Jeff Lapour, Principal of Lapour Partners, a dynamic development company.
Marlene Fujita, Senior Vice President CBRE, Investment Sales.
Adam Horowitz, Founder of Lever Capital Partners, the guy with all the money!
Something happened in March 2019. The Yield Curve Inverted. As one of the most reliable recession indicators, the last time this happened was mid-2007. NAIOP assorted the range of the associations membership for this morning’s program to talk about it. We heard from an active developer, economist, investment sales broker and capital markets pro.
What were some of our Takeaways?
• What project is Jeff building that is causing all sorts of excitement?
• What other statistics are important to watch to determine the health of the economy?
• How is Las Vegas perceived by the outside community, and how it might be affecting the community.
I hope you enjoy!
